This smoke detector has enhanced sensing technology that reduces false alarms incessantly caused by cooking and sends fast alerts that help give your circle of relatives more time to get out safely. Plus, it is interconnected so when one alarm sounds, they all do so you never miss an emergency (see user guide for compatibility with other Kidde models). This alarm offers a modern 5-inch design ideal for all living spaces such as living rooms, hallways, kitchens, & bedrooms. Comprehensively tested and designed to the recent UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch smoke alarm is powered by 120V AC wiring with a 10-year built-in lithium battery, so you never have to change a battery for the life of the detector (not a battery performance claim). As well as, the detector is self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217, FCC, and CSFM.

DETECTS SMOKE: Sounds a loud 85-decibel alarm when smoke is detected – 3 long beeps with red LED light flashing in time, repeating.
HARDWIRED & 10-YEAR BATTERY BACKUP: Operates on 120V AC wiring (installed in the ceiling). No battery changes for 10 years & saves up to $40 over the life of the detector.
ENHANCED SENSING TECHNOLOGY: Reduces false alarms incessantly caused by cooking. Comprehensively tested to meet the recent UL standards, meets UL 217 9th Edition & FCC standards.
SELF-TESTING ALARM: Internal components ensure alarm is all the time operating as expected. Not an alternative to a manual push test, perform a button test once per week to make sure alarm operation.

10-YEAR WARRANTY: Begins when alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it will have to be assumed that alarms will have to be replaced. (10-yr limited warranty on alarm, not a battery performance claim.)
