This alarm offers a modern 5-inch design ideal for all living spaces such as living rooms, hallways, kitchens, & bedrooms. Comprehensively tested and designed to the recent UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch smoke alarm is powered by 2 replaceable AA alkaline batteries (included) for continual detection even throughout outages. Batteries must be replaced each 6 months or when the alarm sounds a low battery chirp. In addition, it’s self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. This Kidde smoke alarm is equipped with end-of-life notifications with a view to beep to remind you it’s time to replace it at the of its 10-year lifespan. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217 and FCC. Does not meet requirements for CSFM.

DETECTS SMOKE: Sounds a loud 85-decibel alarm when smoke is detected – 3 long beeps with red LED light flashing in time, repeating.

NO WIRING NEEDED: Operates on 2-AA alkaline batteries (included) providing easy installation, simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling and twist & click the 5-inch smoke alarm into the bracket.
SELF-TESTING ALARM: Internal components ensure alarm is at all times operating as expected. Not an alternative choice to a manual push test, perform a button test once per week to ensure alarm operation.
3 LED NOTIFICATIONS: LED lights indicate alarm status, green = normal operation, amber = operating error, red = smoke detected.
TEST & HUSH BUTTON: Makes it easy to test the 5-inch smoke detector and silence false alarms, must they occur.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT: Batteries must be replaced each 6 months, a low battery chirp alerts you when batteries need replacing.
10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it must be assumed that alarms must be replaced.
